The Khuda Kay Liye soundtrack is out! Yes, the most anticipated film music album has finally hit stores nationwide. To mark the launch of this album, a press conference was held on Saturday afternoon at Sheraton Hotel. Present at the launch were Imran Aslam, President of Geo Television Network and Dr Akber Yazdani, COO of Geo Records.

Speaking to members of the press, Dr Yazdani said, “Khuda Kay Liye features old artists and new and it is coming from a man who has nurtured Pakistani pop music tremendously. Shoaib Mansoor has given us Vital Signs, Fifty Fifty, Alpha Bravo Charlie and a lot more.”

He also revealed that the first video off the Khuda Kay Liye soundtrack, namely ‘Hamaray Hain’ will hit airwaves today and the film itself will release in cinemas nationwide on July 20.

Imran Aslam spoke fondly of Shoaib Mansoor and stated that he was one of the many fans that Shoaib Mansoor has. “Whatever he touches turns to gold. Be it ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ or all songs of Vital Signs, Fifty Fifty, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Guys and Gulls and Supreme Ishq. Khuda Kay Liye isn’t just a film, it is a benchmark. It weaves a large number of stories that are being experienced in every home. It tells us about clashes within our own civilization that has led to demonisation of a religion that means peace. This music seems to transcend time and I predict that this CD you take with you will be enchanting listening for all of you,” stated Imran Aslam.

The Khuda Kay Liye sound will definitely be different because everytime Shoaib Mansoor involves himself in something musical, it always stands out.

The vocal line-up on Khuda Kay Liye soundtrack is quite interesting. It doesn’t boast of big pop names but a mixture of known and unknown singers/composers.

After a fantastic debut effort in the form of Parastish, Ahmed Jahanzeb can once again be heard on this album. Ahmed Jahanzeb is a truly melodic musician, not just a good singer and perhaps this was the reason why Shoaib opted for him. Another very interesting name this album boasts of is of Shuja Haider. The man who recently designed the sound of Fariha Parvez’s ‘Tu Aa Meray Pass’ and the anti-terrorism song, ‘Yeh Hum Nahin’ can be heard on a full scale on this record.

Along side these names, one finds Shoaib Mansoor returning to lyricism and knowing his track record, that in itself is just another reason to get a hold of the album.

This album brings forward unique, unheard voices. Names like Ammar Hasan, Zara Madani, Khawar Jawad, Faiza Mujahid and Farah Zala will come forward through this record.

Looking at Shoaib Mansoor’s musical history, it would not be an overstatement to say that all music buffs should at least, hear this album. From what one has heard from the film’s teasers, our music industry just got quite a few musical gems via this record. Cheers to that!
